Reiner Schneider (born October 2, 1942 in Heukewalde ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Schneider attended primary school in Heukewalde. He did an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic and passed the Abitur at an evening school. At the engineering school in Köthen he became an engineer for chemical apparatus construction, after studying at the TH Merseburg graduate engineer for process engineering.

Schneider worked as the main mechanic in Katzhütte and at VEB Apparatebau Crimmitschau, initially as a technician, later as operations director. After the state-owned company was converted into a GmbH in 1990 , he became its managing director.

Schneider, who has been a member of the CDU since 1972, was a member of its city council in Crimmitschau and the district assembly in Karl-Marx-Stadt . In 1990 he was a member of the last People's Chamber and the German Bundestag .
