Reinhard Baumhus

Reinhard Baumhus (born August 8, 1964 in Bielefeld ) is a German chess player .

In 1987 he won the individual championship in North Rhine-Westphalia and in 1996 the Bielefeld city championship. In August 1998 he was tied with Bernd Kohlweyer first at the Hans & Lenze Open in Lippstadt . For decades he played in international matches for the national team of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In the 1980s he played for Rochade Bielefeld , with whom he played in the 1st Bundesliga in the 1988/89 season. In the 1st Bundesliga he also worked for SK Passau from 1995 to 1997 and most recently in the 2000/01 season , for SC Hassel Königsspringer Gelsenkirchen , where he also played after relegation when the club later in SC Buer Hassel was renamed.

Baumhus has held the title of International Master since 1990. His current Elo rating is 2322 (as of January 2017), but he is listed as inactive at FIDE because he has not played an Elo-rated game since the 2008/09 NRW class Has. His highest rating to date was 2405 in January 1991, at that time he was shared 71st place in the German rating list.
