Reinhard Körner

Reinhard Körner OCD (* 1951 in the Cottbus district ) is a German Carmelite , author, speaker and retreat leader .

biography

Reinhard Körner studied theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty in Erfurt from 1969 to 1975 . He was ordained a priest in 1977 and then worked as a chaplain in Görlitz for four years . He then entered Carmel in 1982 . In 1990, Körner received his doctorate in the department of theology of spirituality with a thesis on John of the Cross (on the relationship between rational thinking and mystical experience ) at the Catholic Theological Faculty in Erfurt . Since 1990, Körner has been head of the retreats of the Teresian Carmel in Germany as well as rector of the religious retreat in Birkenwerder near Berlin , where he works as a course leader. Reinhard Körner is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and is the editor of the quarterly spiritual journal KARMELimpulse.

Reinhard Körner is the author of publications on questions of spiritual theology , mysticism and spiritual life and the spirituality of Carmel.
