Reinhard Kiesler

Reinhard Kiesler (born January 18, 1960 in Würzburg ; † September 9, 2015 ibid) was a German Romanist , Frenchist , Italianist , Hispanist and Lusitanist .

life and work

Kiesler studied Romance languages, English and Islamic studies from 1980 to 1987 at the universities of Würzburg, Salamanca , Lisbon and Hull (England). He received his doctorate from Theodor Berchem at the University of Würzburg in 1987 with the thesis Linguistic means of emphasis in modern Portuguese colloquial language (Heidelberg, Winter, 1989), there he qualified as a professor in 2000 with the work On Syntax of Colloquial Language. Comparative studies on French, Italian and Spanish (Darmstadt, Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft, 2013) and was an adjunct professor at the University of Würzburg from 2006. He represented professorships and chairs in Münster (2001–2002, 2009), Gießen (2006), Jena (2006–2007) and Würzburg (2012–2015).
