Reinhard Müller (* 1944 in Chotieschau ) is a German historian and sociologist .

Müller studied history, German and sociology in Munich , Regensburg and Hamburg . From 1978 to 1989 he worked at the Thälmann Memorial in Hamburg , then from 1991 to 2009 as a research assistant at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research in the department “Theory and History of Violence”. After all, from 2010 to 2012 Müller was a research assistant at the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Culture . He carried out numerous researches in Moscow archives on the history of German emigrants in the Soviet Union. He worked as a scientific advisor for several documentaries and for the feature film Hotel Lux . He has published numerous publications on the history of exile , Stalinist terror and communism .
