Reinhard Radke

Reinhard Radke (* 1948 ) is a German behavioral biologist , ecologist and animal filmmaker .

Life

Reinhard Radke first studied electrical engineering in Hamburg . While traveling through Southeast Asia , however, he developed a great interest in biology , which he eventually studied in Berlin and Braunschweig . From 1983 to 1988 he did research in Kenyan national parks . In 1990 he successfully completed his doctorate in behavioral biology and ecology. From 1990 to 1992 he was an animal film producer for ZDF and cameraman for the BBC . He had already gained experience in this field in scientific film projects at the Free University of Berlin . From 1992 to 2005 he was employed as an editor in the ZDF editorial team for Health and Nature , as well as participating in the series Naturzeit and producing his own films. The main focus for Radke was always East Africa , where he spent large parts of his life. He has been working as a freelance journalist since 2005 .
