Reinhardt Jung

Reinhardt Jung (born April 29, 1949 in Darmstadt ; † December 21, 1999 in Stuttgart ) was a German child and youth writer .

Life

Jung grew up in Espa im Taunus in central Hesse . After graduating from school, he worked as a journalist and copywriter in Berlin. From 1974 finally with the international children's aid organization " terre des hommes ". From 1992 until his death he headed the children's radio of the SDR and SWR in Stuttgart . He lived with his wife and two daughters in Esslingen near Stuttgart.

In 1999 he received the Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize for the book The Secret Knowledge of the Penguins , published by Jungbrunnen . In 1998, one year before his death, he received the Janusz Korczak International Literature Prize for Auszeit or The Lion of Kauba .
