Reinhold Berens

Reinhold Berens (born January 12, 1745 in Riga ; † October 28, 1823 there ) was a German-Baltic doctor and writer.

After attending school in Riga and studies in Berlin and Göttingen, where he met a botanical thesis in 1770 his doctorate was the son had one of the most influential families in 1800 in Riga as a doctor among others in Omsk and Moscow (1780-1784). In Moscow he was the co-founder of the first sugar boiler. From 1784 he lived as a doctor in his hometown Riga. He had important botanical and mineralogical collections.

His main literary work was the family history of the Berens in Riga , which also contains extensive information about his own life.
