Reinhold Gmeinbauer

Reinhold Gmeinbauer (born November 21, 1963 in Sankt Marein im Mürz Valley ) is an Austrian manager and entrepreneur.

Career

Gmeinbauer began his professional activity as a chemical laboratory technician, which he continued as a police officer after studying music for two years. From 1990 he held leading positions in sales and marketing at the companies “Verlag MediaMix”, “Event Media” and “Das Agenturhaus”. In 1997, Gemeinbauer switched to the “Grazer Woche”, which he headed from 1999 as managing director. The subsequent management of Styria Wochenzeitsholding led him in 2004 to the management of the daily newspaper Die Presse , in which he was chairman from 2005 to 2012. Together with editor-in-chief Michael Fleischhacker , he led the company back into profitability after losses. Under his responsibility, the “Presse am Sonntag” was founded in 2009 and the “Die Presse” brand was repositioned. In the same year, Gmeinbauer was voted “ Media Manager of the Year ” because of his significant involvement in the introduction and implementation of “Presse am Sonntag” . He published his knowledge and experience in sales in book form in 2010.

From 2013 to 2014 Gmeinbauer worked as a media entrepreneur and managing director of Medecco Holding. The holding company, founded together with the former Styria board member Horst Pirker , sees itself as a media boutique that has acquired magazines in the art and architecture sector and holds a stake in Datum .
