Roy Hinkel
Reinhold "Roy" Hinkel (born August 22, 1905 in Briesen , West Prussia , German Empire ; † October 6, 1981 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1932 , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.
Career
Roy Hinkel won the Allan Cup , the Canadian amateur championship title, with the Winnipeg Hockey Club in 1931 . At the 1932 Winter Games, he represented Canada with the Winnipeg Hockey Club. He later played for the Winnipeg Monarchs in the Maritime Senior Hockey League. In 2004 he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
International
For Canada , Hinkel took part in the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he and his team won the gold medal. At the 1935 World Cup , he and his team also won the gold medal.
