Reinier van Brummelen

Reinier van Brummelen (* 1961 in Hilversum ) is a Dutch cameraman .

Life

Van Brummelen completed his training at the Vrije Academie in The Hague , where he mainly attended workshops by the filmmaker Frans Zwartjes. Since the mid-1980s he was involved in several short films as a cameraman. He was also involved in several film and television projects in the field of lighting. In 1988 he was the gaffer for Peter Greenaway's film Conspiracy of Women . Van Brummelen later became the chief cameraman on several Greenaway productions. Another director he has worked with several times is Ben Sombogaart . Van Brummelen's oeuvre includes more than three dozen film and television productions.

For his work on Nightwatching - The Rembrandt Plot , he was nominated for the Golden Calf in the Best Camera category.
