Release is David Knopfler's first album after leaving Dire Straits . It was released in 1983 on the Peach River Records label, and was re-released in 1997 and 2008 by Paris Original Music.

reception

The website Allmusic .com praised "David Knopfler's strong, sandpaper vocals and the gentle orchestral feel of some of the tracks" ("Knopfler's strong voice like sandpaper and the gentle, orchestral feeling in some of the pieces"). The plate has a strong Dire Straits taste.
