Nelly Ridon
Nelly Ridon , also Rely Ridon , Walli Ridon , Relly Riden , née Ribitschka (before 1890 in Vienna - after 1922) was an Austrian film and stage actress. It has been shown to be seen in around a dozen films between 1913 and 1922.
Life
She was the daughter of the Viennese court councilor Ribitschka and had three sisters.
Ridon studied at the Vienna Conservatory under Eugenie Petrasch-Wohlmuth and Alexander Römpler . From around 1901 she first played small roles in the Deutsches Volkstheater Vienna and after major artistic assignments in Reichenberg , Breslau and Klagenfurt (1904).
She can be documented for the first time in the New Theater Almanach in 1906 as Rely Ridon .
An entry in the New Theater Almanach from 1912 indicates that she is “on tour”. She is engaged at the Lustspielhaus Berlin with Klara Kretschmer, Franz Schönemann and Leo Peukert .
In an edition of the Berliner Illustrirten Zeitung in 1911 she was mentioned as the "beauty queen". Several publishers, including that of Heinrich Ross , brought her "artist postcards" to the market, some of which were colored and set with "rhinestones" made of cut glass.
She starred in an adventure film by Harry Piel and a detective film in the Stuart Webbs series, but also in Max Mack's drama “Der Andere” and in Richard Oswald's film version of the opera “Hoffmanns Erzählungen”. In a review of Hans Land's two-act film “Stürme” in the Kinematographische Rundschau in 1913, her name was mentioned in praise alongside that of the leading actor Friedrich Féher .
