René Bahlburg (born June 9, 1988 in Darmstadt ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Bahlburg began his volleyball career in 1998 near Lüneburg with his home club TSV Gellersen. His father founded the volleyball department there. In 2006, the outside attacker moved from the league to the VolleyYoungStars, the youth team of Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen , which played in the second division. During this time he also made his first appearances in the German junior national team. In 2008 Bahlburg went to the first division club SG Eltmann . When the club had to file for bankruptcy a year later , he was able to continue his career with successor VC Franken . But this project ended after one season with forced relegation. Bahlburg then switched to TV Rottenburg , with whom he qualified for the European Cup. In 2014 he went back to the SVG Lüneburg , which had been promoted to the first Bundesliga, and reached the DVV Cup final in 2015 . Bahlburg ended his career in 2016.
