René Greenland
René Grönland (born October 3, 1849 in Eaubonne near Paris , † December 8, 1892 in Berlin ) was a German-French still life painter .
Life
Greenland was born in France as the son of the German-Danish still life and decoration painter Theude Grönland and his wife Sophie Olympe, née Maréschal. Like his brother Nel , who was born in Barbizon in 1859 , he received lessons from his father, and in Paris from the decorative painters Hugo and Turin. In 1868/1869 the family moved to Berlin. There he later taught the painters Marie Elisabeth Moritz and Anna Gumlich-Kempf (1860–1940).
