René Roothooft

René Roothooft (* unknown) is a former French table tennis player from the 1950s. He took part in nine world championships.

Career

René Roothooft was a defender. The French National Championships , he won 14 titles: Single in 1951, 1952 and 1956, in a double in 1949 with Charles Dubouillé , 1951, 1953, 1956 and 1958, with Michel Lanskoy and in mixed doubles from 1953 to 1956 with Christiane Watel and 1958 and 1959 with Claude Rougagnou .

From 1947 to 1959 he was nominated nine times for world championships . He won bronze in the team competition in 1950 and 1953 . In 1952 he lost to the eventual world champion Hiroji Satō from Japan in the semifinals .

In 1952, René Roothooft was fourth in the ITTF world rankings .
