René Vogt

René Vogt (* 1947 ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and former racing car driver .

Career

René Vogt started motorsport in the 1980s. In 1986 , 1988 and 1989 he competed in the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup . In 1988 and 1989 he reached fifth place in the season standings.

When the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany was founded in 1990, he drove there for one season and finished 16th in the annual ranking. In 1992 he competed in the Carrera Cup again and was able to improve to 13th place - his best result in this racing series. The following year he competed again in the brand championship with the Walter Eichin Racing team .

In 1994 he drove three races in a Porsche 911 Carrera Cup for the Jolly Club team in the GT3 class of the Italian Supercar GT Championship .

Vogt started together with Bernd Mayländer and Rolf Pichl in a Porsche Carrera 2 in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in 1991 and finished in ninth place.

René Vogt is the owner of an automobile workshop specializing in Porsche vehicles.
