Renata Kochta (born April 14, 1973 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German tennis player . Her father is the famous ice hockey player Jiří Kochta .

Life

Renata Kochta began her tennis career at the age of nine. Her great talent was discovered very quickly. Trimmed by the ambitious father, Renata Kochta became a tennis professional at the age of 14. She played on the WTA Tour for over 10 years and during that time she was able to book over 30 titles in singles and doubles. Her most successful year was 1992. She became International German Champion, European Champion, won the Warsteiner Grand Prix and competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments . She played in the Bundesliga for five years and ended her career in 1999. She has a sister Marketa Vaněk (married to professional tennis player Jiří Vaněk ), who was also a successful tennis player.
