Renata Pawlik (born May 23, 1955 in Poznan ) is a Polish master tailor for designer fashion who lives in Berlin .

Life

Renata Pawlik grew up in Poznan. Her father was a third generation tailor. At 16 she did an apprenticeship as a tailor and worked in a textile factory. At 22, she expanded her knowledge and attended the textile school in Poznan, from which she graduated with a master's degree. She was enthusiastic about haute couture , which in socialist Poland was considered decadent and class-hostile. In addition to her work in the textile factory, she secretly and privately tailored her own creations for friends and acquaintances.

After the reunification she came to Berlin from Poland. Her parents opened a tailoring shop in Tempelhof. Just a year later, Pawlik went into business for himself.

At a time when the number of tailoring businesses in Berlin had dropped from 81 in 2000 to 31 by the end of 2004, Renata Pawlik took over two employees and a few machines in an intermediate foreman in 2003 . In January 2003 she found her first customers at the Premium fashion fair : streetwear and jeans brands and young Berlin designer brands such as Mari Otbergs JustMariOt , for which she developed prototypes and produced small series, collections that were presented at Berlin Fashion Week . Your interim master shop for designer fashion with twelve permanent and depending on the order situation up to 100 tailors is now one of the most renowned in Berlin. Internationally successful brands such as Kaviar Gauche , Kilian Kerner and Wolfgang Joops Wunderkind have their products manufactured by her.
