NGC 780 is a Hubble-type Sab spiral galaxy in the triangle constellation in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 238 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 784 , IC 1752 , IC 1753 , among others .
The object was discovered on October 26, 1786 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
