NGC 760

SDSS image of two closely spaced stars, cataloged as NGC 760, below the barred spiral galaxy NGC 761 .

In the New General Catalog, NGC 760 refers to two apparently closely spaced stars in the triangle constellation , near the galaxy NGC 761 . The catalog entry goes back to an observation by the astronomer Ralph Copeland on December 19, 1873 with the Leviathan telescope , to whom this appeared as a nebula.
