NGC 754 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E2 in the constellation Eridanus the southern sky . It is estimated to be 265 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 45,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 745 , among others .
The object was discovered on October 27, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
