NGC 756 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 535 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 125,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 725 , NGC 734 , IC 1745 , IC 1758 , among others .
The object was discovered on November 9, 1885 by the American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth .
