NGC 735 is a Hubble-type Sb spiral galaxy in the triangle constellation in the northern sky . It is an estimated 213 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter . The galaxy is considered a member of the Abell 262 cluster of galaxies .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 739 , NGC 750 , NGC 751 , NGC 761 .
The supernovae SN 1972L , SN 2000dj (Type II) and SN 2006ei (Type Ic) were observed here.
The object was discovered on September 13, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel .
