NGC 716 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 207 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years across .

The Supernova SN 2017fqo was observed here.

The object was discovered on September 1, 1886 by the American astronomer Lewis A. Swift (as NGC 716) and on January 1, 1892 by the French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan (as IC 1743).
