IC 1728 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is an estimated 384 million light years from the Milky Way and about 150,000 light years across .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1734 and IC 1739 .
The property was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in 1899 .
