IC 1734 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is an estimated 220 million light years from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on November 17, 1897 .
