IC 1722 is a faint bar spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is an estimated 182 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1724 .
The property was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in 1899 .
