The 2009/10 season was the 18th season of the Berlin League and the second as the sixth highest division in men's football in Germany. The second team of 1. FC Union Berlin won the relay with a clear lead over BFC Viktoria 1889 . It was the first time that a reserve team won the association league title. Union II rose for the first time in the Oberliga Nordost. The season was disappointing, however, for the league relegated from the previous season BFC Preussen and Spandauer SV , both of whom clearly missed the direct re-promotion. Instead, the SSV had a disastrous season and ended up relegated for the second time in a row. The Spandauer had financial problems throughout the season and could not pay their players. Several times you could not play, which meant that these games were rated 0: 6 against the SVV. Other games were only played with a reduced number of players, which sometimes led to heavy defeats (including 1:15 and 1:11).

In the state league also rose from 2008 Mariendorfer SV, Concordia Britz and Nordberliner SC . The newcomers of the preseason NSCC Trabzonspor, Frohnauer SC and SC Gatow, however, were able to hold their own in the league.
