The VfB Concordia Britz , shortly Concordia Britz , is a football club from the Berlin district of Britz in Neukölln district . Home of the club is the stadium at Buschkrug , which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators .

society

VfB Concordia Britz was founded on July 1, 1916 as SC Britz, but was soon renamed to “Association for Movement Games Britz 1916”, or VfB Britz 1916 for short. Even then, the club was located on Buschkrugallee. In 1922, the soccer players of the SC Straßenbahn transferred to VfB, whereupon the club ran up for a short time until 1923 under the name VfB Britz-Straßenbahn . In 1930, today's stadium at the Buschkrug was built. In terms of sport, VfB Britz did not play a significant role in Berlin football until the end of the Second World War, and until the game was discontinued in 1944, the club only operated at the regional league level.

In 1945 VfB was dissolved and re-established as SG Britz . The sports group Britz took part in the Berlin City League , which was held for the first time in four groups in 1945/46 , in which the qualification for the single-track city league was played out at the same time. Britz narrowly missed the leap in fourth place in the single-track city league behind the Kreuzberg SG Südring . In 1949, the meanwhile renamed VfB Britz still managed to rise to the city league, which could only be held for two seasons. During this time the club had an average of over 3000 spectators. Subsequently, VfB Britz played in the second-class amateur league Berlin until 1958 , but disappeared again in the lower-class West Berlin local football for the next few decades .

In 1999 VfB Britz merged with PSV Concordia Gropiusstadt , which was created through a merger between Police SV Berlin (formerly Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg ) and 1. FC Concordia Gropiusstadt , to form VfB Concordia Britz . Concordia has played in the Landesliga Berlin since 2001, before being promoted to the Berlin League , before that Association League , in 2008 . From this one rose after 2 seasons, in the summer of 2010 back to the regional league and played there until 2017. From 2017 (9th place) -2019 Britz played in the district league. In the 2018/19 season, under coach Heiko Lambert, the season ended in third place, as the second-best third of the three seasons. On June 27, 2019, with the withdrawal of the 2nd team from BFC Dynamo, VfB Concordia Britz for the 2019/20 season, promoted to the state league.
