NGC 741 = IC 1751 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 251 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 220,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies NGC 742 and IC 1746 .

The object was discovered on December 13, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel . On November 16, 1897, the same was observed by Lewis A. Swift and thereby received the entry IC 1751 in the index catalog .
