IC 1759 = IC 1760 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 172 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 75,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy IC 1762 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 29, 1897 .
