IC 1774 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBcd in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 166 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 80,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 786 , NGC 792 , NGC 803 , IC 192 , among others .
The object was discovered on December 21, 1897 by the French astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
