IC 1779 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E3 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 430 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 20, 1903 .
