NGC 693 is a lenticular galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 73 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 676 and NGC 706 .
The object was discovered on December 25, 1790 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
