NGC 671 is an edge-mounted galaxy of the Hubble type S? in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic , which is an estimated 250 million light years from the Milky Way . It is classified as a Seyfert 2 galaxy , a special form of active galaxies with a bright and compact core.
The object was discovered on September 17, 1885 by Lewis Swift .
