NGC 695 is an active , lenticular galaxy with extended star formation from the Hubble type S0 in the constellation ram on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 440 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 674 , NGC 694 , IC 1730 , IC 1742 .
The object was discovered on November 13, 1786 by the German-British astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel .
