NGC 713 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 235 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years across .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 731 , NGC 747 , NGC 755 , NGC 763 .
The object was discovered in 1886 by the American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth .
