NGC 708 is a CD galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E2 in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is an estimated 223 million light years from the Milky Way and about 195,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the Abell 262 galaxy group .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 703 , NGC 704 , NGC 705 , NGC 709 .

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on September 21, 1786 .
