NGC 704 is a galaxy in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 218 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the Abell 262 galaxy group . Together with LEDA 197601 it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 703 , NGC 705 , NGC 708 , NGC 710 .

The object was discovered by William Herschel on September 21, 1786 .
