NGC 656 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 164 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on September 20, 1865 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
