NGC 635 is a spiral galaxy with extensive areas of Hubble-type Sb star formation in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 625 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 15, 1885 by the American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth .
