NGC 614 = NGC 618 = NGC 627 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Triangle in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 237 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 608 and IC 1718 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered on September 13, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel . It was rediscovered twice by the British astronomer John Herschel , which led to additional entries in the New General Catalog . On November 11, 1827 as NGC 627 and on November 16, 1827 as NGC 618 .
