NGC 784 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBd and lies in the constellation Triangle in the northern sky. It is estimated to be 14 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 20,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 780 , NGC 805 , NGC 807 , IC 1753 .
The object was discovered on September 20, 1865 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
