NGC 802 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Little Water Snake in the southern sky . It is about 59 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy NGC 813 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on November 2, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
