NGC 819 is a galaxy of Hubble type S? in the constellation Triangle in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 299 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 807 and NGC 816 , among others .
The type IC supernova SN 2007hb was observed here.
The object was by astronomer d'Heinrich arrest in 1865 using a 28-cm - telescope discovered.
