NGC 834 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Andromeda on the northern sky . It is an estimated 211 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 818 , NGC 828 , NGC 841 , NGC 845 .
The object was discovered on September 21, 1786 by the astronomer William Herschel .
