NGC 846 = NGC 847 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is estimated that 235 million light-years from the Milky Way away and has a diameter of about 130,000 light years together with. NGC 812 and PGC 8424 it forms the LGG 46 - galaxy group .
The object was on November 22, 1876 by Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan (listed as NGC 846 ); and discovered by Lewis Swift (as NGC 847 ) on November 30, 1885 .
