NGC 814 is a lenticular galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 71 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered on January 6, 1886 by the American astronomer Ormond Stone .
