Rodrigo Amaral , full name Rodrigo Amaral Pereira , (born March 25, 1997 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The midfield or offensive player Amaral, who is 1.78 meters or 1.76 meters, has been in the ranks of Nacional Montevideo at least since 2014 . In the 2014/15 season he was part of the squad of the first division club, which was Uruguayan champions that season. However, he was not used in any competitive match of the first team. He made his debut in the Primera División in the Apertura 2015 on August 15, 2015 in a 4-1 home win in the game against Villa Teresa , when he was substituted on by coach Gustavo Munúa in the 65th minute for Ignacio González . In the 2015/16 season he made 17 first division matches and scored one goal. He was also used twice (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana and once (no goal) in the 2016 Copa Libertadores . During the 2016 season, in which he won the national championship title with the "Bolsos", he made a first division appearance (no goal).

National team

After Amaral had already participated in the course of the Uruguayan U-20 national team in May 2014 , he made his debut under coach Fabián Coito on June 10, 2014 in a 1-1 draw in the friendly international match against Paraguay in Uruguay's U-20 team. He was then a member of the Uruguayan squad at the U-20 South American Championship 2015 in Uruguay. Uruguay took third place. He contributed to this with a goal in eight tournament appearances. He also took part with the team in the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand . By the end of May 2015 (as of May 28, 2015) he played for Uruguay in a total of 25 international U-20 matches and scored five goals. In the course of the World Cup tournament he was used four times (no goal).

In a preselection made by Fabián Coito's coaching staff regarding the players who might be nominated for the Uruguayan U-22 squad at the 2015 Pan-American Games in Toronto , he was also considered, as was the provisional squad announced on May 19, 2015. In the end, however, he was not nominated for the Games.
